2025 Annual Hostage Negotiators Competition

Washington County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiation Unit competes in the annual Hostage Negotiators Competition. The event is hosted by the Western States Hostage Negotiators Association and was held in Sunriver, Oregon. Negotiators from all over the western United States competed in a seven-hour mock scenario. No breaks. No pause button.This is a huge event with hundreds of participants, role players, facilitators, and even local media. Teams are judged on a wide variety of skills in several categories.
